I’ve had a difficult time putting words together for this letter, and I blame it on Neptune. Saturn and Neptune are forming multiple aspects to my natal planets, resulting in waves of emotional processing and insight into the interconnectedness of life. Translating those thoughts and feelings into coherent paragraphs is tough.
The New Moon on August 23 at 1° Virgo opened the door to Eclipse Season. As Mercury and Saturn change signs this week, weight is added to the Virgo-Pisces axis, where the eclipses land, affecting both world events and personal lives. While it may sound like acliché to say that there are major endings and new beginnings, it is indeed true.

Transit of the Month: Eclipses in Pisces & Virgo
Although the two eclipses are separate events that occur on specific days, their impact overlaps and extends into weeks (and months) before and after.
- The Sept 7 Lunar Eclipse in Pisces aligns with the North Node, which tends to bring emphasis and expansion to Piscean topics such as water, oil, drugs, music, film, spirituality, and religion. Think “sleepy, slippery, and sloppy.”
- The Sept 21 Solar Eclipse in Virgo is with the South Node, a spiritualizing or draining influence on a sign that tends to focus on practical matters. Virgo topics, in a broad sense, include health, public services, workers in general, agriculture, and food.
What parts of your life might be impacted? Look at the houses in your birth chart where Pisces and Virgo are located. You may see a surge of activity or attention where Pisces is located, and a release or outage where Virgo is. If you have a planet or important point within 5-7 degrees of the eclipse, it’s more likely to be noticeable in your life.

Sept 1-6
Saturn returns to Pisces for the next 5 ½ months, and Neptune will follow in October. This represents the final chapter of longer stories in your life, some begun in 2011-2012, and others in March 2023. With Mercury in Virgo and Mars squaring Jupiter, you may want to jump in and finish the puzzle, but some pieces are still missing.
Your move: When things are unclear, you have two possible paths to follow. One is to take your time and gather more information, and the other is to act, trusting your instincts. You can tune in to the undercurrent with a sense of curiosity rather than worry.
Sept 7-13
There is a wonky period between eclipses, while Mercury chases the Sun. In turn, they will cross the South Node (Sept 10-11), sextile Jupiter (Sept 12), and then meet at 21 Virgo. You’re likely to receive important messages, information, and clarity, but with the two planets opposite Saturn, there can be a tendency to focus on the negative.
Reality is created by the mind. we can change our reality by changing our minds. - Plato
Your move: Manage your mindset. Trust that you have the will and the skill you need. The magic lies within you. While I’m not a disciple of positive thinking as a form of spiritual bypassing, you always have a choice about your attitude.

Sept 14-20
The waning Moon leads us to the Solar Eclipse, and there is a good deal of planetary movement. Mercury enters Libra, Venus moves into Virgo, and both the Sun and Mars reach the end of their zodiac signs. The pressure builds, as Mercury, the Moon, and the Sun activate a kite formation.
Adopt the pace of nature: her secret is patience. - Ralph Waldo Emerson
Your move: Take a moment to look around. Be present in your own body. There is no need to rush. Practice patience and observe the changes within and around you.
Sept 21-30
Within 24 hours of the Solar Eclipse (Sept 21), Mars moves into strategic Scorpio, forming an aggressive square with Pluto in Aquarius, and the Sun enters Libra. Mars-Pluto squares are powerful, which can manifest as either heroic or hellish. Mars has advantages in this clash, and at its best, Mars in Scorpio is an emotionally intelligent, persistent, and loyal protector.
During the Moon’s golden hours of September 26 (see below), a mystical rectangle briefly forms between the Sun, Moon, Neptune, and Uranus, which can spark new vision and creative solutions. It gives me hope.
Your move: It’s time to act with integrity. Go all in. Whether it’s essential communications or taking action, assertiveness combined with a positive intent can go a long way.
Reflective Questions for the Season
Zora Neal Hurston wrote, "There are years that ask questions and years that answer." This is likely to be a season with more questions than answers. Consider the following:
- With structures and systems dissolving around you, what essential skills or resources can you rely upon to navigate these changes effectively?
- How do you want to offer meaningful support to others while the ground beneath everyone feels unstable and shifting?
- As this cycle brings surprises and disruptions, what criteria will help you distinguish between changes to embrace and changes to resist?
- What daily practices or routines anchor you when everything else feels in flux, and how can you strengthen these foundations?
Golden Hours
Some of the month's most favorable moments (Central time)
Sept 19-20: The Moon greets Venus in Virgo Friday morning and continues traveling through the sign until it makes a sextile with Jupiter in Cancer late Saturday night. While there are other tense aspects in the sky, you may find satisfaction in purging things at home or serving others.
Sept 24-25: Around 5 pm on Wed, the Moon in Scorpio wavers to Venus (a friendly sextile), then travels to converse with Jupiter (trine) just after midnight on Thursday (Early Fri am). It’s supportive for honest, intense conversations and passionate connections.
