Denise's Story
In 2002, Denise was at a crossroads. After a decade in banking, she was unemployed, disillusioned, and in a difficult relationship. A single astrology consultation didn't solve everything, but it gave her clarity and hope.
With a clearer understanding of her own birth chart, she changed careers and built a stronger sense of self-worth. That experience lit a fire, prompting Denise to incorporate astrological guidance into her life through self-learning.
With a career path defined by integrity and service, Denise moved from financial advisor to registered nurse, then into education and leadership. Through it all, she guided people through change — from birth to death and everything in between. She has spent her professional life in rooms where people need someone steady, knowledgeable, and genuinely present.
In astrology, she found a framework to hold it all: the drive to serve, the need to lead, and the quieter work of honoring herself.
Education & Training
My approach is grounded in both rigorous education and sustained practice.
After many years of self-study, I began studying with Samuel Reynolds (Unlock Astrology) in 2020 and completed his four Nitty Gritty astrology classes. I continued my astrological education with the School of Traditional Astrology (STA), and hold practitioners' certificates in mundane and horary astrology.
I am an active member of the Organization for Professional Astrology (OPA) and the the International Society for Astrological Research (ISAR). Since 2023, I've been working to earn OPA's Certified Professional Astrologer designation. Their training program includes consulting skills, ethics and peer group sessions. All my requirements were finished in September 2026, and final approval is pending.
I serve as Senior Editor of The Evolving Astrologer magazine, and have contributed to the editorial team since March 2022. My writing has appeared in The Evolving Astrologer, at Astro.com and The Astrologers Co-op.
In the greater New Orleans area, I host regular meetups, teach classes, and provide in-person readings for individuals and groups. You can find me at Mystic Resource Center in Metairie, LA on the 1st Friday evening of every month for Astrology Night. Check out the upcoming schedule on my Event Calendar.
My formal education includes two Bachelor of Science degrees (Economics and Nursing), a Master of Science in Nursing, and a PhD in Nursing Education and Administration. I am a Registered Nurse with a specialty certification in nursing professional development, and continue to work in nursing education.
