We’re still under the influence of the sloppy, slippery Sept 17 Lunar Eclipse in Pisces, and now a Solar Eclipse in the 11th degree of Libra. Eclipses in Libra often bring changes in social and relationship matters. It’s not surprising that group conflicts, such as those between nations and management vs. labor, are in the headlines.
October 1-7
The first few days of October are flavored with the South Node Solar Eclipse (endings, losses, or returns from the past) and a grand water trine between Venus in Scorpio, Saturn in Pisces, and Mars in Cancer. Situations can change quickly, with a significant emotional impact. Be mindful of your relationships and alliances; this is not a time to ask hard questions unless you’re prepared for the answers.
Have faith that whatever ends now is for the best, opening up fresh soil for new crops. Oct 5-7 features Mercury square Mars, so people may be defensive or aggressive. Dance it out, sing at the top of your lungs, or use that energy to purge old stuff from your closet.
October 8-17
Jupiter and Pluto are both slowing to a halt in the sky above us. Jupiter turns retrograde, and Pluto starts moving forward. When planets are stationary, it can feel like their archetypes are laser-focused into our lives. That’s the vibe of the First Quarter Moon on Oct 10, when the Moon will form a harsh t-square with the Sun and Mars as it moves toward Pluto in Capricorn. I expect dramatic news on the world stage, and probably more details on the sexual misconduct cases of recently arrested musician Sean “Diddy” Combs.
Jupiter in Gemini tends to scatter focus, so you may feel like too many demands or commitments are competing for your attention. Anything you can do to regulate your nervous system will be helpful. You may feel an overwhelming urge to make big changes, but try to sit on it until the Full Moon. You may need more information.
October 17-24
On the day of the Full Moon (October 17), Venus makes a sextile to Pluto just before she enters Sagittarius. This may be your moment if you’ve felt the urge to break free of a relationship or contract. Sagittarius encourages freedom and exploration. Go ahead and gallop into the sunset.
You may want to retreat under a blanket with comfort foods on October 18, when the Moon in Taurus deals with sextiles to Saturn, then Mars.
On October 22, Mercury makes a trine to Saturn while the Sun squares Pluto and then enters Scorpio. It’s a sober day, and you may feel stifled, frustrated, or despondent. Focus on what you can control, and try to keep your mind on the present moment. Do the next right thing, and then the next.
October 24-30
Mars is sextile Uranus at the Last Quarter Moon on October 24th, so try a new approach! It’s an invitation to move your body, too. Is there a fitness class you want to try? After the sextile with Uranus, Mars will trine Neptune and then oppose Pluto. Physical movement can be therapeutic, any actions that engage your large muscle groups.
On Oct 30, Mercury opposes Uranus, and on Oct 31, Venus trines Neptune. Both aspects encourage you to use your imagination. While there can be a tendency towards delusions and excitability, you can channel this energy into creative fun, too. If you do any sort of arts and crafts, use these days to experiment and play.
