Eclipse Season!

Table of Contents

Lunar Eclipse Nov 8

Next week is our 2nd eclipse in the Fall series; this one is a Lunar Eclipse. The Full Moon in Taurus will darken with the Earth’s shadow around 5 am CST. It’s a wild one, and on the U.S. Election date. Eclipses are always a bit unruly, but this one is heavily influenced by Uranus, associated with disruptions, awakenings, and out-of-the-blue surprises.

The past two years have been a struggle between old and new, restriction and freedom, authority and anarchy, as illustrated by a tense relationship (square) between Saturn and Uranus. Think about the Nov 8 eclipse as the season finale. Turbulent eclipse waves will continue to toss us around until the Nov 23 New Moon in Sagittarius.

That doesn’t mean things will be “back to normal “. Our world is irrevocably changed, and it will be up to us to find new ways forward.

New Moon - New Hopes on Nov 23

The three planets now in Scorpio will shift into Sagittarius mid-month. Venus moves Nov 16, Mercury moves Nov 17, and the Sun follows Nov 22. Planets in Scorpio slow down and have an emotional intensity. Moving into Sagittarius brings a more optimistic, adaptable, and energetic mood. You’ll feel it.

As a bonus, Jupiter ends his retrograde and moves into a stronger direct position in Pisces. Jupiter is the “boss” of Sagittarius, so this boosts the energy further.

UPSIDE: More joy, more indulgences, expansive ideas, hope and faith.

DOWNSIDE: Overindulgence, overconfidence, impulsiveness and excess of all kinds. (Watch your spending!)

Golden Hours

The early part of November is rocky! Below are some times to highlight in your planner. All times are CST.

Nov 11-13 The Moon enters Cancer at 6:22 pm Friday evening and stays on friendly terms with the other planets for most of the weekend. Take care of your home and hearth and connect with the people you love. Snuggle up and eat a nourishing soup.

Nov 16-17 The middle of the week looks best for group events, especially after the Moon enters Virgo on Wed night (7 pm). Thursday would be the best day for important decisions and meetings, or planning for the future.

Nov 19-20 The Libra Moon wants to harmonize and socialize. It could be lovely for social events or shopping, but don’t commit to anything BIG, and use common-sense safety precautions. Mars square Neptune Respiratory illnesses are in full force. (Did you get your flu shot?).

Nov 23-24 People will be active, so expect heavy traffic if you’re journeying for the US holiday. Wed night and Thursday have positive aspects, so enjoy yourself. Keep moderation in mind.

Nov 25 Really, beware overspending! You can’t buy happiness. Reality will bite quickly this weekend when the Moon leaves fun-loving Sagittarius and settles into the Saturn-ruled signs of Capricorn, then Aquarius. Arguments and regrets could ensue next week.

Nov 28 Back to work, and it’s a great energy for hard work in support of your noble cause.
