March is a complicated month astrologically. The New Moon on March 2nd holds great promise, but it combines with heavy tension in the areas of the sky ruled by Saturn.
Think about it as three scenes on a stage.
(1) Stage right is the sign of Capricorn, a scene of power plays and violent passions.
(2) Center stage is a cold, hard reality, with long-standing rules and boundaries, restrictions, delays, and requirements.
(3) Stage left is the sign of Pisces, where the Moon and Sun offer a lively and hopeful tune for unity, compassion, hope, and faith.
The Sun and the personal planets (Mercury, Venus, and Mars) will move fast through these signs but stay bundled in a small section of the sky. Changes will be reflected on the world stage and in our lives. Alliances and conflicts can form quickly, then shift as new circumstances emerge. There are too many aspects to fully describe in an email, but the overarching theme is that we stand together on shaky ground.
It may be hard to find comfort and ease, but I hope you will seek the stability that is inside of your core. Stay grounded in the ways that work for you. I’ll be leaning on conversations with loved ones, daily routines, physical movement, and spending time in nature. Journaling is also incredibly helpful for me when I am facing complex emotions and uncertainty.
Aries Ingress
The astrological new year begins when the Sun enters Aries on March 20, marking the Spring Equinox in the northern hemisphere. Mercury follows the Sun a week or so later. Aries energy is empowering, and you might feel compelled to set boundaries and make your own changes in late March.
Jupiter-Neptune Conjunction
A crescendo builds when Jupiter and Neptune come face to face in April, joined by Venus. The word that comes to my mind is “outpouring”. I’ll write more about this next month, but it’s worth taking note of now as the planets move into alignment. The graph below portrays the degrees of separation between the two planets over the next three months.

The last time Jupiter and Neptune joined in the sign of Pisces was the 1850s, so this is an uncommon occurrence. It is strong and could manifest in multiple ways. Some that occur to me are:
- Increased sensitivity (emotional, physical, and psychic)
- Increased positive feelings like hope, optimism, belief, and compassion.
- Boundary dissolution, which can be good or bad. All sorts of things can spread more easily - infections, lies, misinformation, fantasies, romantic illusions/delusions.
- Big events related to water or oil - oceanic changes, flooding, storms, spills, tears.
- Original creative works of music, film, and poetry that capture big audiences and attention
I’m looking forward to it with curiosity and enthusiasm, but a bit of caution too!
