Jupiter in Gemini
On May 25, we experienced a significant astrological event as Jupiter shifted into Gemini. Jupiter, known for bringing growth, expansion, and affirmation to your chart, is a harbinger of hope, help, and fortune. However, in Gemini, he's a bit impaired. Like a tourist exploring the temptations of Bourbon Street, he can quickly veer into extremes. You might encounter a charming, generous, light-hearted version or an opinionated, posturing jerk. Perhaps both, depending on the hour.
Jupiter will be at his best this summer (June-July) and late February to early April 2025. You may want to push your luck or focus on growth during those periods.
However, it's important to be aware that Jupiter’s move through Gemini also creates an environment ripe for the spread of misinformation, disinformation, gossip, and incorrect conclusions. For instance, there's a news story circulating about a 'rare lineup of six visible planets on June 3.' The claim is that if you get up before sunrise, you can see Jupiter, Mercury, Uranus, Mars, Neptune, and Saturn. It's gained traction in mainstream and social media but is inaccurate.
Here's the truth about the alignment. The Sun, being so bright, hides any planets within 15 zodiacal degrees of it. On June 3, the Sun is at 13.5 degrees Gemini. In the picture, it is the bright star on the lower left. Venus, Jupiter, and Mercury are all in Gemini, respectively, at 13, 2, and 1 degrees. Since they all are within 15 degrees of the Sun, they won’t be visible. You might briefly make Jupiter and Mercury out in perfect conditions with a good telescope.
So, early in the morning on June 3, you may see a slender crescent Moon next to Mars and, further out, a dull Saturn. Uranus is sometimes visible to the naked eye in very dark skies, but it won’t be visible on June 3. Neptune is lined up between Mars and Saturn but is never visible without a telescope. Pluto is just beyond Saturn and not visible to us.
Below is a representation of the southeastern sky above New Orleans at 6:30 a.m. on June 3rd. It’s from a free software program called Stellarium, and I removed the atmospheric conditions that would inhibit naked-eye viewing.

Jupiter stays in Gemini until June 2025, and we will navigate a fast-paced world with significant changes and mixed messages. However, with the right tools and knowledge, you can navigate with greater ease. You can use your discernment and practice techniques to regulate your nervous system to make the most of this transit.
Does that mean it’s a “bad” transit? No, not all.
Wherever Gemini, Pisces, and Sagittarius are in your chart, there will be learning and growth opportunities. It’s a great time to experiment and explore your curiosity. This period is not just about the alignment of planets but also about aligning your goals and actions. It’s suitable for networking, connections, and collaborations. It can be fruitful for many positive developments in your life. Still, discernment and nervous system regulation will support you.
I’m part of the Astrologers’ Co-op project, and there is a wonderful open-access article on our Substack: Jupiter’s Journey through Gemini. Check it out if you’d like to learn more about this transit.
June 1 - 8
The first week of June is promising, with both “benefic planets” (Jupiter and Venus) in Gemini with the Sun. When a planet moves into Gemini this year, it makes a trine (120-degree angle) with Pluto in Aquarius. The Sun and Venus did it in May; on June 2, it’s Jupiter’s turn. Meanwhile, Mercury sextiles Neptune. These transits can encourage you to transform your life, dream big, and envision the kind of future you want.
Mercury returns to its home sign of Gemini on June 3, and he is rushing. His stay here is brief, lasting only two weeks until June 17. This limited time presents a unique opportunity to make the most of any communications, media, or travel projects. It’s a nice boost!
On Tuesday, June 4, three significant transits occur before noon! Mercury trines Pluto as he crosses Jupiter, while Venus is conjunct with the Sun, also known as Venus cazimi or Venus star point. This Venus star point marks the beginning of a new 4-year cycle, focusing on desire, values, and relationships. It's a powerful period for introspection and reflection, so set aside some time to delve into your inner thoughts and feelings.
Your heart and mind may find alignment and clarity at the New Moon conjunct Venus on June 6. Because it is Gemini, don’t be surprised if there is some duality or opposition rather than a single unified goal. You may want two things that seem to compete with each other. That’s okay. Approach what’s possible with your curiosity and creativity.

Mercury, Venus, and the Sun travel closely together for the rest of June. On June 8, Venus squares Saturn, and the Sun follows on June 9. Slowdowns, cautions, and sober reminders might mark this period. It’s great that you have a clear vision, but now you must do the work. The two squares kick off a series of challenging transits leading into next week.
I marked June 8-14 on my calendar as “be extra mindful.”
June 9 - 15
Mars left fiery Aries for earthy Taurus on June 8 and squares Pluto on June 11. On June 12, Mercury is our 3rd planet to square harsh realist Saturn. Is it a buzzkill? Maybe, maybe not! Mars brings motivation, heat, speed, and force, while Pluto activates primitive drives and emotions. This combination is associated with anger, violence, or situations where strong physical force and colossal energy are exerted. It’s a robust, combustible time.
Focusing on projects that require physical exertion may be beneficial. Physical activities such as exercise or manual labor can help productively channel Mars' and Pluto's intense energy. Does something need to be torn down to make room for new creations? Do you have an issue that requires a massive energetic commitment? This is the week!
(Don’t forget discernment and calming your nervous system.)
On June 14, Mercury, the planet of communication and intellect, passes across the Sun for his cazimi moment. In astrology, this term describes a planet in the heart of the Sun, considered a powerful, transformative event, like being cleansed by fire. Aha!
June 16 - 22
Mercury passes Venus (June 17) to head into the Sun’s flames. However, the triad stays close, each forming a square to Neptune and entering Cancer between June 16 and 20. It’s quite a dive from the airy breezes of Gemini to the cool waters of Cancer. Perhaps it reflects a shift from the head to the heart. You now seek security and familiarity after weeks of restless exploration and change. The emotional consequences of last week’s squares require attention.
The Full Moon is a time for emotional realizations and release, but on June 21, outward expression can be stifled in Capricorn. The Moon in Capricorn tends toward solitary reflections and stoic resolution. This is the Moon I was born under, and I find nature to be soothing and grounding. You’re never too old to lie in the grass.

June 23-30
Softer transits mark the final week of June. Mercury forms a trine with Saturn in Pisces (June 26), and the month ends with collaborative sextiles from Venus-Mars and Mercury-Uranus. Cooperation and insight can come from unlikely places.
Golden Hours
All times are CST.
Saturday, June 1 - The Moon is at a last quarter phase in Aries and makes friendly sextiles with Jupiter and Venus. It’s an excellent day for chores, cleaning, and organizing - and you’ll probably still have energy for a date night.
Friday, June 14 - Mercury’s cazimi coincides with a 1st quarter Moon in Libra trine Jupiter, bringing much-needed relief from the tougher transits of the week. I suggest using the afternoon and evening for FUN. It has perfect vibes for a game night, a festival, or other cultural outing. Music, dancing, making art together? People will be chatty, so you want an activity that allows for exchange rather than passive observations. Departing for a weekend getaway might be perfect, too!
Wednesday, June 26 - Between 1:30 and 9:30 p.m., the Moon in Pisces floats between aspects with Jupiter and Venus. It’s a good time for activities focused on healing, helping, or expressing your emotions through a creative outlet. It’s also a lovely transit to daydream, wander around a museum, watch a movie or nap. Check your local museums - many offer free admission for residents on Wednesdays!
