Integration time, come on! Let’s integrate…

(sung to the tune of Celebration by Kool & the Gang)

Major global cycles started in 2020 when Pluto, Saturn, and Jupiter met in Capricorn. This spring, we went through important turning points as all three planets changed signs. The celestial and terrestrial worlds keep doing what they always do: cycle and change. We are not merely passive observers; we are dynamic participants in the process. Still, it might feel like you’re building on shifting sands because, in many ways, you are.

The pace slows down in June, offering a chance to gain your footing and integrate after a purgative eclipse season and Mercury retrograde.

On June 1, Jupiter meets the North Node at 4 Taurus. The North Node is not a body, but a point on the sky map where the Moon’s path intersects the Sun’s path. Astrologers consider the North Node as a point of hunger, growth, and fated events -  like a decision point in a “choose your own adventure” book.

Three astrological events shape the weekend. Venus trines Neptune on Friday evening, a great time for romance, sensual pleasures, and creative arts. The Full Moon in Sagittarius is Saturday, then Mercury meets Uranus on Sunday. It’s a bit wild, passionate, and unpredictable.

Where is Venus shining for you?

Venus enters Leo and opposes Pluto on June 5. Venus is usually in a sign for 3-4 weeks, but she stays in Leo until Oct 8, because of her retrograde July 22 - Sept 3. Venus in Leo is warm, fun-loving, and showy. Your spirit may be uplifted with urges to see and be seen. The last time Venus was in Leo for 4 months was the summer of 2015. Reflect on that period for clues about how this transit may affect you. If you know your chart, pay attention to the house of Leo.

On Sunday, June 11, Pluto (retrograde) backs into Capricorn and Mercury speeds forward into Gemini. Expect the pace to pick up with an energized Mercury. You will be ready to communicate, travel, and transact business. Venus also squares Jupiter, which can be fun and sometimes brings good luck. It’s easy to go overboard, so check your impulses to overdo, overeat, or overspend.

The weekend of June 17-18, the New Moon in Gemini happens while Saturn turns retrograde. Saturn retrogrades are rarely noticeable but if you have a planet or point in Saturn’s harsh gaze (7 degrees of Pisces, Virgo, Sagittarius, or Gemini) it may feel like a heavy weight.

If you feel down, let the playful and childlike Gemini archetype inspire you. Listen to your favorite tunes and sing along! Watch fantasy or comedy. Giggle. Create something with your hands. Play games. Do a puzzle. Immerse yourself in a project just for the fun of it.

Mixing Earth and Water

In my view, the most important astrological movement in June is a sextile (60-degree angle) between Jupiter and Saturn. The exact date is June 19, but because of Saturn’s slowdown and retrograde, the aspect is in play all month.

These two planets are encouraging and supporting each other from Earth (Taurus) and Water (Pisces) signs. Neither one is particularly strong, but I’m hoping for a fertile alliance, combining Jupiter’s expansionary impulses with Saturn’s slow prudence. It may bring responsible, sustainable growth. This transit can encourage humanity to combine ideals with practical reality.

The Sun enters Cancer June 21, ushering summer into the Northern hemisphere. Mercury greets Mars (another sextile) and the growing Leo Moon bounces between Jupiter and Venus. You may feel a call toward home, family, and nostalgia. Connections can be sweet; everyone wants to be included and appreciated.

On Sunday, June 25, Mercury squares Neptune, which can just muddy our thinking and communications. It’s a good day to go to the movies.

The next day, Mars in Leo prods the Great Disruptor, Uranus (by square). Think big surprises or shocking news. Try to give yourself breathing room this week. Our minds may need a moment to recover, as Mercury enters Cancer and gets more emotional. It might feel like a mini-Mercury retrograde this week.

The last week brings feelings and relationships into focus. On June 28, the Sun trines Saturn, then the Moon moves through Scorpio and forms a tense T-square pattern with Venus-Mars and Uranus (June 29). Strong emotions can force people to “dig in” to their positions, making it hard to compromise. Be sure to listen as intently as you speak. It might be best to sit on things for a few days, since Neptune can increase everyone’s confusion levels as he turns retrograde on June 30. Clarity is more likely on July 1st.

Golden Hours

A quick look at dates and times I’ve highlighted.  All times are CST.

Monday, June 5, 2:35 am – 9:25 am

The Moon isn’t at her happiest in Capricorn, but she is receiving support from Jupiter and Saturn today. If you need to accomplish something, I particularly like 7:15 – 8 am.

Tuesday, June 13,  3 pm - midnight

The waning Moon is exalted in Taurus and spoiled by Jupiter.  It’s not a good time for new beginnings, but it seems like a lovely date night with friends or a partner. Think comfort and ease.

Wed, June 21 8:15 am – 10:10 pm

We have a Leo Moon, enclosed by sweetness from Jupiter and Venus. Reach out and connect with people, or conduct some business. Promote yourself. It’s a lovely day.
