June 2022

A breath of fresh air

Table of Contents

You’ll be happy to know that June is a quieter month than the last two. We are now out of eclipse season. Mercury will be turning direct on June 3, and the cosmic weather gets a little clearer.

Will all of our problems be solved? No. But Mars, Venus, and Mercury will all spend some time “at home” during the month.

  • Mars is in his home of Aries all month
  • Venus is in her home of Taurus until June 22
  • Mercury will enter his Gemini home on June 13th

Planets at home are more comfortable and more powerful. For us, these placements translate to greater potential to get things done and enjoy some summertime pleasures.

There are also fewer tense aspects (squares and oppositions) in the sky and more friendly, supportive ones (sextiles and trines). Progress is possible.

Do I really use astrology to plan my life?

A few people have asked me this question, and the answer is YES—and also no. I use astrological timing when convenient, and the outcome is essential. I consider it a factor, but I don’t shape all my decisions around planetary movements.

If I’m planning a trip and there are 2-3 flights that meet my needs, I’ll use astrology. I will look at the charts for each flight’s time of departure and choose the one that looks best. Or I’ll eliminate the one that looks worst. With flights, in particular, I have experienced that better charts tend to be smoother trips.

But, of course, sometimes life intervenes. Surgeries are notoriously hard to “elect.” You can choose the best possible day and time for a procedure but have no control over when it begins. Earlier or later start times happen frequently based on complicated scheduling with the surgical team and facility.

Or maybe the best possible time for a wedding is a Tuesday at 5:00 am—and that isn’t going to happen!

Realistically, I check on what’s happening in the sky, make some notes in my planner, and try to take advantage of the “golden hours”. The timing guidance I do for clients is more complicated, choosing for specific outcomes based on the client’s requirements and wants.

Electional Astrology

Timing is everything! With astrology, you can choose the best days and times for important events or actions—like launching a business, scheduling surgery, or making big decisions. Using your birth chart and planetary cycles, I’ll look for 2-3 auspicious options that align with your goals.

What makes a golden hour? Many factors can impact timing, but one of the basic tenets is to focus on the Moon. Luna prefers some signs over others, and she is happiest when in a friendly aspect to Venus or Jupiter. Here are some times I’ve marked on my calendar for June.

Golden Hours

JUNE 1, 12:48 am - 10:23 am CST The Moon in Cancer applies to square Jupiter and then sextile Venus.

JUNE 12, 5:31 pm to JUNE 13, 2:30 am CST The Sagittarius Moon is applying to trine Jupiter.

JUNE 25, 6:13 pm to JUNE 27, 2:21 am CST The Gemini Moon applies to conjoin Venus, then sextiles Jupiter and continues on to the host of Gemini, Mercury at 2:21 am.

JUNE 28 All day The Sun and Moon in Cancer will square Jupiter while Venus makes a sextile to Jupiter. Mercury is also strong in the chart, giving this New Moon great potential.
