2023 Overview
We have been through some intense cosmic weather for the past three years, and I’m happy to report that 2023 looks milder by comparison.
We are at the threshold of hefty changes, and March is the most critical month for movement. Mars will leave Gemini after 7 long months, Saturn enters Pisces for a couple years (first time since 1996) and Pluto These three planets exert a lot of pressure on the areas of your birth chart where they sit, so their moves are a BIG DEAL for us collectively and individually.
Saturn in Pisces is associated with creative cultural periods and new forms of fashion, music, and art. I’ve only lived through one Saturn in Pisces period (1993-1996) and have fond memories of the Grunge years. Bands like Pearl Jam, Nirvana, and Soundgarden ruled the airwaves. Saturn’s prior transit was 1964-1967 when the Beatles became a worldwide musical sensation. It makes me wonder what we will all be listening to a year from now.
Pluto in Aquarius will herald new tech advances, and change how we function within shared community structures. If you want to know more about the social implications of these transits, email me, and I’ll send you some resources.
The lunar nodes shift into Libra/Aries this year after time in Scorpio/Taurus, so eclipses also start striking new parts of your chart. The first set in April-May looks most intense to me, and I have my eyes on mid-May as a potentially high-pressure period. More on that in the coming months.

January Highlights
It’s a retrogradey start to the New Year.
January starts slow, as we sidestep through Mars and Mercury retrogrades in the first 3 weeks. New Year's Resolutions? Give yourself time. Reflect on your values, your priorities, and your dreams for the coming year.
- Mars is still retrograde in Gemini (since Halloween) and turns direct Jan 12.
- Mercury is retrograde in Capricorn until Jan 18
Venus, on the other hand, is rushing through Aquarius. We will see her as a bright star in the early evening skies. The Sun in Capricorn struts at his usual pace. There aren’t many new aspects that last more than a day or two, so moods and situations come and go.
Lights, camera, and action after Jan 22!
The Sun enters Aquarius on Jan 20, and there is a New Moon the next day. Things start to roll. Mark your calendar, because the most productive time of the year begins. On Jan 22, Uranus turns direct and at last, ALL planets are moving forward in the sky.
LATE JANUARY - MID APRIL is prime time to GET THINGS DONE.
The most lovely change of the month is on January 26 when Venus dives into Pisces, one of her favorite places to be. This amps up the pleasure quotient in the Pisces part of your birth chart. I’m looking forward to late January and February for this one.
Golden Hours
A quick look at dates and times I’ve highlighted this month. All times are CST.
Tues, Jan 3 pm - Sun Jan 8 all day
It’s prime time to review and re-evaluate your affairs. Talk about what matters with your family and/or your team. Focus on long-term dreams and vision. Brainstorm. Start the planning process, but keep things big-picture right now. You can finalize things and get specific later this month. You don’t have all the info you need yet.
Sun, Jan 8, 1 am - 11 am
Extra feel-good vibes with the Moon between Jupiter and Venus.
Fri, Jan 27 PM
Please do something pleasurable today! Indulge yourself and/or someone you love, and revel in it.
Tuesday Jan 30, AM
The Gemini Moon has a few hours of sweetness before she meets Mars. Meet a friend or colleague for lunch? The best time is between 11:23 am and 2:00 pm. After 2 pm, things are dicier.
