February 2026

Romance, action, suspense!

Table of Contents

If February 2026 were a movie, you'd need a seatbelt and a box of tissues. A dragon swallows the Sun on February 17 (Solar Eclipse in Aquarius). Eclipses bring power surges and outages, crisis and new emphasis, the toppling of the powerful and the rise of the unlikely.

Add romance (Venus-Jupiter in water signs), explosive action (Mars square Uranus), and a once-every-36-years villain origin story (Saturn-Neptune in Aries). Right when you think you've figured it out, there is a Mercury retrograde plot twist, leaving us on a cliffhanger for the Moon’s eclipse in March.

February at a Glance

Feb 1: Full Moon in Leo
Feb 5: Mercury square Uranus, Mercury into Pisces Feb 6
Feb 8: Venus square Uranus, Venus into Pisces Feb 10
Feb 13: Saturn enters Aries
Feb 16: Sun square Uranus, Mercury trine Jupiter
Feb 17: Solar Eclipse in Aquarius
Feb 18: Sun enters Pisces
Feb 20: Saturn conjunct Neptune
Feb 22: Venus trine Jupiter
Feb 26: Mercury retrograde begins at 23 Pisces
Feb 27: Mars square Uranus, Venus conjunct Mercury

Great conjunctions occur when the slow-moving planets (Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune & Pluto) meet each other in the sky. Examining these conjunctions is one of the most essential techniques in world astrology, and each planetary combination has specific archetypal expressions.

Saturn-Neptune conjunctions occur about three times in every century. Historically, these celestial meetings have coincided with collective crises and periods of restructuring, often marked by wars, pandemics, and political upheavals. The pattern is that old structures dissolve (Saturn) while new visions form (Neptune).

In Aries, this process can occur rapidly and forcefully.

On February 20, the conjunction is “perfected”, meaning that the planets are at the same degree and minute (0°45’ Aries) of the zodiac. There may be dramatic events on this date, exaggerated by the February 17 Solar Eclipse, but keep in mind that planetary transits are always a process. Saturn approaches Neptune, they meet, and Saturn moves on at a faster pace.

Many astrologers use a 15-degree orb for great conjunctions, placing the precise conjunction within the mid-range from March 2024 to May 2027.

Feb 1-7

February kicks off with a Full Moon in Leo opposite five planets in Aquarius (Pluto, Mars, Sun, Venus, Mercury). Big feelings may arise that need to be expressed. Don’t hold it in. The Aquarius house in your birth chart is getting intense stimulation this month.

Uranus turns direct Tuesday night while all the Aquarius planets square it, starting with Mercury on Thursday. Expect plans to change. Be flexible and ground yourself in lifestyle habits that support your highest functioning, such as time outdoors, movement, nourishing food, and adequate sleep.

Your move: Prepare for a messy Mercury retrograde at month’s end. Back up files, confirm plans, print important documents, and keep critical contact information in hard copy.

Feb 8-14

Venus squares Uranus on Sunday. Sometimes this transit is fun and spontaneous, but watch for darker influences this week (Moon in Scorpio, Sun conjunct Uranus, Mars conjunct Vesta, Uranus conjunct fixed star Algol, Saturn at the last degree of Pisces). If you’re in public spaces, stay aware of your surroundings. Financial market volatility is also possible.

Saturn leaves Pisces and enters Aries on Friday, February 13 (not returning to Pisces until 2052). With the Moon in Capricorn, there may be a palpable shift in mood. Aries brings fast action, impulsiveness, aggression, and motivation. If you’ve been unclear or stalling, you’ll feel the urge to act.

Your move: Use good judgment. Keep the maxim “marry in haste, repent at leisure” in mind. It can be applied to all matters of decision-making, not just marriage.

Feb 15-21

This week features two distinct themes. You may experience both, with one area of life blossoming while another faces challenges. Or you may notice one overpowering the other.

Theme 1: Peace, beauty, and love. Saturn has left Pisces, leaving Venus, the North Node, and Mercury to enjoy these waters in peace. The Sun joins them on February 18. Pisces planets form a supportive trine with Jupiter in Cancer, offering potential for creative inspiration, interconnectedness, compassion, and care.

Theme 2: Breakdowns, outbreaks, and upsets. Solar eclipses can bring long-standing issues to a crisis or illuminate new developments that require attention. The first eclipse of the season occurs on Feb 17 (Mardi Gras), with a second on March 3. In addition, the Saturn-Neptune conjunction in Aries is nearing completion, and Mars is approaching a square with Uranus, adding tension and volatility.

It might look like a surprising event that prompts joyous celebration. People may come together through compassion to resist oppression. The two themes may play out in various ways.

Your move: Lean into creative projects, meaningful connections, and acts of care.

Feb 22-28

Sunday brings a beautiful Venus-Jupiter trine, and skies remain relatively calm until the Moon activates the Mars-Uranus square on Monday. As the Moon moves through Gemini, expect heightened news, messages, and movement.

Mercury turns retrograde on Thursday. Whatever happened last week will be reviewed and revised. Stories may be inaccurate or deceiving. Mars squares Uranus on Friday. These two transits together challenge technology, travel, organization, and order.

Your move: Double-check communications. Allow extra time for travel. Postpone major tech purchases or launches if possible.

Golden Hours

Some of my favorite times in the weeks ahead (central time):

Feb 17-18 all day

After the Solar Eclipse at 6:01 am, the Moon moves into Pisces at 8:09 am, heading to meet the North Node and Venus, then trine Jupiter. The Sun enters Pisces at 9:51 am—with the potential for something inspiring, beautiful, even fantastical. Create art, pray, dream, or enjoy deep rest.

Feb 22 afternoon and evening

Venus forms a trine with Jupiter at 2:01 pm, and the Moon in Taurus highlights it in the evening. Enjoy a Sunday-Funday. Share a meal with loved ones.

Feb 26 evening and Feb 27 all day

The Moon is with Jupiter in Cancer, while Venus and Mercury hold hands in Pisces. It’s perfect for peace talks, reconciliations, creative or loving words.
