Your February forecast is below, but before we go forward, I want to acknowledge that many of us are having a hard time processing what’s happened in the last part of January. I hope you’re taking good care of yourself - body, mind and spirit.
Your 2025 RoadMap Video
I find it helpful to consider the current astrology in terms of a bigger picture, maybe you will too. I am giving you complimentary access to my recorded webinar, Your 2025 Roadmap. The video is 55 min, but in the first 14 1/2 min, I cover the longer-term astrological cycles and share three big themes for 2025.
1 - Acceleration of Change
2 - Dissolution of structures & systems
3 - Creation of new forms & movements
I think you’ll agree these themes are already forming as we enter February. While things are not easy, I am optimistic that together we will create a better future.
February 2025
The New Moon on January 29 is celebrated in many parts of the world as the Lunar New Year. In Chinese astrology, we are entering the Year of the Yin Wood Snake. I’m not an expert in that system, but if you’re interested in learning more about the forecast and traditions, I’d recommend my friend, Master Clarice Chan, who writes a yearly guide, downloadable for less than $20 USD.
This New Moon took place at 10 Aquarius near Mercury and Pluto, setting the tone for February. The chart is saturated with planets in water (Pisces & Cancer) and air (Aquarius & Gemini) signs, while Uranus in earthy Taurus is slowly turning directions.
Air signs represent thoughts, ideas, and communication, while water signs represent emotions, senses and intuition. Earth signs represent the material world, our bodies, resources and finances. Putting it together, you can anticipate disruptive messages and and earth-shaking events that provoke chatter and strong emotional responses. New Moons start a 28 day lunar cycle and a longer three year cycle called the Lunar Gestational Family.
This week may bring shocks, ending with a sense of awe on Sat, Feb 1 when Venus meets Neptune and the North Node in Pisces. Venus-Neptune conjunctions have the potential for tremendous creativity and beauty, sweet intoxications and imaginative escapes. The North Node increases, so this weekend would be a fantastic opportunity to create art, enjoy cultural events like theatre or dance, or to rest in the arms of a loved one. It’s romantic, devotional and spiritual.
The downside is that people can get carried away, vulnerable to deception, and emotional decision-making that doesn’t factor in “reality”. I hope you will enjoy the weekend, and use discernment.
Feb 2 - 8 Jupiter turns Direct
When we get to the First Quarter Moon on Wed, Feb 5, the planet Jupiter turns direct in the sky, and Venus enters Aries. Jupiter is a planet of optimism, increase, and faith. It has been handicapped for several months, but will be a bit stronger from now to mid-March (then again later in the year). I particularly like Thurs, Feb 6 , when the Moon will also be in Gemini, blessed by aspects with Venus and Jupiter. That’s a good day for conversations, learning, doing business, and asking for favors.
Feb 9 - 15 Full Moon square Uranus
On Sunday, Feb 9, Mercury meets the Sun in Aquarius. These Mercury “cazimis” happen several times every year, and it can be a day of insights, answers, and mental clarity. If insights and ideas occur to you, write them down!
Mercury and the Sun stay close together for a few days, and there is a 4-day series of transits involving them with Uranus.
- Feb 9 - Mercury conjunct Sun
- Feb 10 Mercury square Uranus
- Feb 11 Sun square Uranus
- Feb 12 Full Moon in Leo, where the Moon ties it all together by squaring Uranus, opposing the Sun, then opposing Mercury.
Expect the unexpected in the days leading up to, through these transits. Uranus is known as the great Awakener, associated with sudden and unanticipated events, revelations, revolutions, and insights. When the Moon is in Leo, people can be loud and dramatic, so there may be protests, strikes, or uprisings.
On Friday, Mercury moves into Pisces, a more compassionate and emotional sign than Aquarius. The Moon enters Libra on Saturday, a gentler, more diplomatic phase, but still laser-focused on what’s fair and just.
Feb 16 - 22 Emotional Integration
The astrological weather is fairly quiet this week, mostly highlighted by the movements of the Moon. Pisces season begins on Feb 18 when the Sun moves in, joining Mercury, Saturn, the North Node, and Neptune. The sign of Pisces will be a busy place for many weeks. If you have important placements or planets in mutable signs (Pisces, Sagittarius, Gemini, or Virgo), be ready to adjust.
Feb 23 - Mar 1 Reversals and Eclipse Season
This is the biggest week of the month, with several important changes. Mars has been retrograde since Dec 5, 2024. On Sun, Feb 23, Mars turns direct. It’s moving very slowly and will remain in Cancer until April 19, but this is an important turning point in the cycle associated with cleanup and healing.
The New Moon in Pisces occurs on Wed, Feb 26 (more Pisces action!) leading us into Eclipse Season. The Full Moon of this cycle will be a Lunar Eclipse on March 14, followed by a Solar Eclipse on March 29. T
On Sat, Mar 1, Venus turns retrograde in Aries, and she will back intoPisces! This will be followed by a Mercury retrograde in a couple weeks, from Aries to Pisces.
