February is a month with two distinct chapters.

Chapter 1
Chapter 1 starts with a serious New Moon in Aquarius the night of Jan 31st. We still have a powerful lineup of planets in Saturn’s territory of Capricorn and Aquarius so that the January chill will linger.
Things slowly warm up as Venus and Mercury complete their retrograde cycles.
- Venus finished her retrograde motion on Jan 29th.
- Mercury turns direct on Feb 3rd.
- Mars, Venus, and Mercury are all visible in the morning sky.
- Mars is running fast to catch Venus for their Feb 16th date.
- Mercury and Venus are moving at a snail’s pace. It takes time for planets to pick up speed after retrograde motion visibly.
The time for reviewing, revisiting, and revising ends. We can start making progress on those New Year’s goals and action plans. Use the first two weeks of February for slow and deliberate steps forward. It’s time to overhaul the systems that are not working well.
Chapter 2
Chapter 2 begins on Valentine’s Day as the Moon enters fiery Leo and Mercury re-enters Aquarius. These moves mark a dramatic couple of days leading up to the full Moon on Feb 16th. The pace quickens, and emotions rise. It’s all systems go!
On Feb 18th, the Sun leaves the harsh realm of Saturn to join Jupiter in Pisces. The Pisces area of your chart starts to simmer gently and will become a major focus for action in April.
Hot Spots in February
Every planetary transit is good for something! Put these on your calendar.
- Feb 2-3 Great energy for the last burst of Mercury retrograde work. If you still need to review or revise something, here is a boost of positive energy. You can get friendly cooperation from others as the Pisces moon makes a sextile with the planets in Capricorn.
- Feb 14-16 Ripe for passionate exchanges of all kinds. If you fight, don’t forget to kiss and make up. Sparks will fly with the Full Moon in Leo and the Mars-Venus conjunction on Feb 16th.
- Feb 23-24 Venus and Mars interact with dreamy Neptune while Mercury has a tense exchange with shocking Uranus. In New Orleans, the Carnival season will be in full swing. This combination is perfect for the creative imagination and romantic illusions/delusions. Put on a fabulous costume and have fun! (But wear a mask and keep your wits about you.)
Keep in mind that the transits will impact each person differently based on your personal birth chart. The notes I share here are the overall “energy” in the world at large. If you want a better sense of how you’ll be affected, book a consultation.
P.S. I’m specially trained in an astrological technique called Horary or Interrogational Astrology. It allows me to answer specific questions for people without doing a full birth chart consultation. People ask all kinds of horary questions. Popular topics are lost items, work and career situations, relationships, financial questions, real estate issues, or trials and legal matters. If something is keeping you up at night, give it a shot.
