FAQs about the Foundations of Traditional Astrology course

I'm thrilled that some of you have already registered for the Foundations of Traditional Astrology. Your commitment motivates me!

The course is a series of seven 2-hour classes, spread over three months. It is intended for complete beginners and for people with a background in modern, psychological or evolutionary astrology who want to expand their knowledge.

You'll progress from historical and philosophical foundations to the planets, to signs, houses, and aspects. The final class is a practicum where you interpret a natal chart using the methods you've learned.

Below are some of the most frequently-asked questions.

Will you offer the Foundations course again next year?

It is likely that I'll offer it again in 2027, but I haven't made a firm decision.

Will there be an online option?

For 2026, the classes are in-person at Mystic Resource Center in Metairie, LA. I'm considering offering it online in 2027. If you're strongly interested in an online course, let me know. You can reply to this email or use my contact form.

I want to enroll, but may have to miss 1-2 classes. Can I still complete it?

Yes. Things happen and it's inevitable that some students will miss a class or two. I'll audio record the live classes, so you will have recordings with any slides, handouts or other written content.

Can I pay for it in installments?

Yes. Afterpay is offered at Mystic's online store. Pay per class options are also available on approval, please contact me for details.

Are there discounts or scholarships?

There are no discounts. One scholarship will be provided for every 10 paid enrollees. If you'd like to be on the waitlist, let me know.

Do I need to enroll in advance?

No, but there are limited spots so it's the best way to guarantee your space and to ensure you receive any important announcements before class begins.

No. Each class builds on the previous one, so students need to commit to the entire series.

What are the class days & times?

We will meet at Mystic (1708 Lake Avenue, Metairie, LA) at 7 pm on the following dates: Sept 18 and 25, Oct 9 and 22, Nov 13 and 27, Dec 11.

All the dates are Friday evenings except Oct 22.

Do I need to buy any software, books or other supplies?

You don't need to buy any software, I'll show you how to use a couple of free astrology websites.

I recommend the book, On the Heavenly Spheres, by Avelar & Ribeiro. It's a great resource in paperback, readily available online. You can also find it on my Resources list.

You'll want a notebook and pen, and a way to access to digital materials that I provide (slides, handouts, etc.).
